Building one of Colombia’s most active React communities

Since 2017, I have helped co-organize ReactJS Colombia, a developer community built around free events, practical learning, and making the local React ecosystem feel more connected.

🎯 What we do

• Recurring meetups, workshops, and networking sessions around React, TypeScript, testing, performance, accessibility, and tooling.
• An inclusive learning space designed to be useful for both experienced engineers and people breaking into the ecosystem.
• A stronger local network that connects developers, hiring teams, speakers, and companies through shared technical interests.

🤝 What I contribute

• Talk and workshop curation around practical engineering topics teams can actually use.
• Event planning and logistics, including venues, communication, speaker coordination, and the small details that make a community feel welcoming.
• Mentorship for newer developers and first-time speakers, especially people who need a little more support before sharing publicly.

📈 Impact

• Dozens of events since 2017 with strong local attendance and recurring community participation.
• 100+ participants at peak sessions across meetups and workshops.
• A healthier local React ecosystem where knowledge-sharing feels open, accessible, and collaborative instead of gatekept.

🌍 Why it matters

ReactJS Colombia matters to me because it keeps the work human. It is a reminder that engineering is not only about shipping products. It is also about making space for people to learn, connect, and grow together.
